I'll embed here a brief cinema version by Bing Crosby because it was recorded in 1946 - a year that has a certain resonance for me.

Eric Clapton's version of "How Deep is the Ocean?"
I listened today to the 1973 "Clapton" album; mixed in with all the blues pieces was his version of an old song with refreshingly upbeat lyrics:
