I just love seeing dogs with adorable bandannas tied around their necks. It always reminds me of my "baby Bud" who, when he was groomed, would come home with a cute little bandanna tied around his neck.  The groomer would put one one for the particular season or holiday time frame we were in.  If you love doggie bandanna's, too and have always wanted to learn how to make one then you'll be pleased to know that Ros Coffey has a tutorial on her RosMadeMe Blog blog showing you how to make a dog bandanna.

Here's what Ros had to say about her tutorial:  Everyone should have at least one good friend who hears all their troubles, and mine is Charlie who is a rather handsome bulldog, who hears everything and says nothing... actually he fulfils this role for a number of us. Recently, he has become quite the dandy about town sporting topical bandanas... he wore a Union Jack for the jubilee but I thought I would use one of the newly launched animal ribbons from the Jane Means collection... mind you, Charlie asked me to let Jane know he is available for modelling assignments when she realises that a bulldog would add that touch of macho doggy class to her great doggy ribbons!

Ros's Bio:I live by the sea, in Essex, in Leigh-on-sea. I have been making things since I was a child, earliest memories were embroidering squares of binca matting, making felt egg cups and ripping back my knitting when my sister had picked up a dropped stitch... yep, it really did have to be all my own work! I am a dreadful hoarder, with stashes of wool and fabric hidden around my house, together with the projects that I have not yet finished. I am currently making cushions, quilted, appliqued, stencilled... actually just anything that I will enjoy crafting.

Hot Diggity Dog Free Pattern From Lisa Bunting Thoms of Q.D. Patooties

If you love dogs like I do then you'll be happy to know that Lisa Bunting Thoms of  Q.D. Patooties  has yet another wonderful pattern to share.   I just love Lisa's creations and "Hot Diggity Dog" is one of my favorites.

Here's the instructions and what Lisa had to say about Hot Diggity Dog:  Click on the pattern above to enlarge it. Then, right click on the image and save it to your hard drive. You may enlarge it or shrink it depending on what size "Hot Diggity Dog" you plan to make. My version ended up being the size of a sheet of paper (about 8.5" wide and 11" tall). Cut out both pattern pieces. When cutting out the face of your dog, remember to place the straight edge on a folded piece of felt and then cut it out. For the body of my dog, I just traced it directly onto the fabric, then folded the fabric in half and sewed leaving an opening to stuff it (like a pillow). Then, I used some Fraycheck (because I made mine out of a cotton print - you won't need to do that if you make yours out of felt because it won't fray), clipped the corners and curves, and then turned it right side out. I sewed on my dog's face after I had stuffed his body and sewed up the opening in the body. Use some imagination when adding your face. I wanted my dog's tongue to stick out but you don't have to make yours exactly like mine. Have fun with it and people will really dig your dog!
