Here's what Vicki had to say about her gift bag tutorial: I have to deliver two baby quilts at work tomorrow. Of course it was 6:00 tonight before I realized that I did not have baby gift bags or even baby wrapping paper. I needed fabric gift bags pronto! Here they are complete and ready for the quilts.

These took a lot less time to make than it's taken me to edit the photos and write the instructions. There are an overabundance of photos here but I tried to show every step so that beginners could make these.

In my opinion you can never have enough holders. Holders for things, things, and more things. Holders for books, credit cards, coffee mugs, lip balm, sewing needles, notebooks, steno pads, candles, tissues, napkins, baby teeth, cell phones, keys, calendars, flowers, art supplies, vegetables, tools, plastic bags, money, eyeglasses, iPods, gift cards, candy, cards, ornaments, and so much more. The problem is in deciding to which holder to make first.

Here's what Geta had to say about her tutorial:  These shopping bags were my Christmas gifts for my family...  These are not large grocery bags, I made a pattern that uses only one yard of fabric.  It can be carried in the purse and you will not need so many plastic bags.  The bags measure 13"x16.5" (without handles).

Here's what Jessica had to say about her tutorial:   When I bought something at a store recently, the clerk handed me my purchase in a bag made from a newspaper. I liked it very much and had to make some more—thus today's DIY recycled newspaper project: gift bags made from the Wall Street Journal. You can vary the dimensions, of course, but here's what I used to create a bag that's 5" tall, 4.5" wide, and 3" deep.

(There may be better ways to stick this thing together, but I used what I had on hand: staples and adhesive glue dots. Double stick tape should work, too.)
