Formica Chip Ornament Tutorial By June Crawford of A Creative Dream

Here's what June had to say about her tutorial: A Little Holiday Cheer... Folks around the office are complaining about how there is no holiday cheer in the building. So, me being me, I thought...ok, why not spread a tad of cheer. Since everyone in our building actually celebrates Christmas, I thought..."Hey, why not Secret Elves spreading Random Acts of Holiday Cheer?". Imagine something like a "Secret Santa" sort of thing, where everyone is assigned a person from those participating to share random acts of cheer with. ...I would have gone with the Secret Santa, but I really prefer to think of myself as a cute little elf...rather than a rotund one. So...two weeks ago I posted a flyer, and stuck one in every mail box in the office encouraging people to participate. Tomorrow is the deadline for signing up.

As of Friday, when I left at the end of the day...counting myself and the two other girls that originally thought it was a great idea...a total of six are participating. I think I have discovered why people are complaining about no holiday cheer.

Since so few are participating, and since I expect that very few more will be joining in, I decided that I would begin the spreading of random acts of holiday cheer when I assign everyone their victim. Besides, it would give me the chance to try something that I'd been wanting to for a while now. Off I go to my local home improvement store and their counter top samples. You know the ones I am talking about? The are in the kitchen area...they are small tiles of laminate with a hole punched in them so they can hang. Great for using to make small, very simple, ornaments.

Santa and Tree Tutorials By June Crawford of A Creative Dream

I just love adorable and colorful Santa's - especially if they are tall and skinny. If you do, too then you'll be happy to know that June Crawford has a wonderful tutorial on her A Creative Dream blog showing you how to make a Santa and tree. He'll make a nice addition to my skinny Santa's collection.

I'd sewn them a few years ago and had tucked them away, as I often do, to get back to at some point. And, I did get back to them. The first one turned into Santa. But, of course, you know I'm not finished there... With one little change to the directions, you can create a whole 'nother thing... Let me show you ..

Woodland Santa Pillow Pattern By Kaaren Johnston of The Painted Quilt

I have several different Santa collections that I bring out at the holiday season. There's my tall Santa's collection, my mini Santa's collection, my Santa dolls. What I don't have is a collection of Santa pillows. Given that Kaaren Johnston has a wonderful pattern on her The Painted Quilt blog showing you how to make a woodland Santa pillow I may just have to start that collection of Santa pillows. Here's what Kaaren had to say about her pattern: It’s the First Friday of the month again so it’s time for my fourth FFF (First Friday Freebie). Do you realize it’s only 21 days until Christmas? Yikes! Where have the days gone?

Although Christmas is a short three weeks away, this month’s design can be stitched up relatively quickly and be ready in plenty of time to hang by the chimney awaiting St. Nick’s arrival.

This month’s design is adapted from an painting I did about 6 years ago that appeared in a Japanese decorative painting magazine. It’s called Christmas Eve.

Oh, My! It's So Late, Santa!" - Free E-Pattern From Linda Walsh of Linda Walsh Originals

"Oh, My! It's So Late, Santa!" is a frazzled Munchkin Santa" who just can't believe what day it is and what time it is. How is he ever got to finish everything in time to get the presents to the good girl and boy munchkins? There's just no way. Grr.......

And, he's getting so frantic about it his hair is standing on end? Grr....... And, he can't sleep - which explains his sunken munchkin eyes. Grr..... And, he's so mad that he's so late! Grr.....

He's getting so frantic about it he can barely look at the calendar. Grr...... What to do! What to do! What should he do? Grr.....

There's just no time. Grr..............!

"Oh, My! It's So Late, Santa!" is a 9" country Santa ornament. He has a puffy, round muslin head. His face is drawn and he has sunken black bead eyes , a gathered and filled nose, blushed cheeks and oodles of freckles. His eyebrows, mustaches, and scraggly beard are made of raw mohair.

He has thick, straight, white yarn hair that is as frazzled as he is.

He is wearing his favorite fringed holiday shirt which is gathered in the center back. His pants are gathered at the waist and at the top of his black boots.

"Oh, My! It's So Late, Santa!" is so frazzled he just wants to cover his face with his hands. It's So Late! Grr..... What should he do? Grr...... What should he do? Grr......

He doesn't want to disappoint all the good "munchkin" boys and girls. What should he do? Grr.........
