Recycled Organiser Bag and Recycled Organiser Wallet Free Tutorial From Andrea Millington of Indigo Blue Designs

Do you like to recycle and re-purpose things? And, are you always looking for interesting ways to do so? Well, if you are then you'll be happy to know that Andrea Millington of Indigo Blue Designs has a wonderful tutorial on her Indigo Blue blog showing you how to make a recycled organiser bag and recycled organiser wallet from a plastic multi-pocket organizer. Here's what Andrea had to say about her tutorial: Barb at I Wanna New Bag has set up a new challenge that some of you may be interested in taking part in. Every month or so she sets a challenge with a theme for recycling items into other products. The theme for this month is to use something a bit out of the ordinary. Not sure what that might be? Here's what Andrea had to say about her tutorial: For months I have been trying to meet the challenges set by I Wanna New Bag and failed miserably! Yesterday I decided to throw caution to the wind and do this.... Take one rather unwanted plastic multi-pocket organiser and cut it with a pair of scissors to make a bag and a wallet. I did not actually measure it, but I went with wherever the pockets started or finished.

Diary Wallet Free Tutorial From Andrea Millington of Indigo Blue Designs

As a little girl I had a diary with a little lock on it. I wrote in it every day for awhile but must have lost interest as I stopped writing in it one day. In any event, as an adult I have always thought it would be a great idea to keep a diary. For me, instead of writing in a traditional diary I maintain some non-traditional diaries - blogs. I like to think they're just an electronic version of a diary.

However, if you maintain a traditional diary and have always wanted to make something pretty to hold it then you'll be happy to know that Andrea Millington of Indigo Blue Designs has a wonderful tutorial on her Indigo Blue blog showing you how to make a diary wallet.

Work Diary Wallet Tutorial

Here's what Andrea had to say about her tutorial: About a year or so ago I made a laptop bag using Cath Kidston fabric. There is a tutorial in the side bar. I really wanted to make something over the summer. I have a diary at work and get given lots of paper. I dropped my diary near the end of term and the contents shot down my classroom floor and covered nearly 6 feet!! So a wallet of some kind that I could keep my diary in and any paper which I then work on at home etc seemed the ideal solution.

Scrap Ribbon Wallet/Clutch and Scrap Ribbon Belt Free Tutorial by Ashley Hacksaw of Lil Blue Boo

I have bags and bags of scrap ribbon lying around - waiting to be used. I'm not exactly sure why but I'm saving it for when I need it. Well, to my delight Ashley Hacksaw of Lil Blue Boo had a couple ideas on her Lil Blue Boo blog for making a scrap ribbon wallet/clutch and making a scrap ribbon belt. Have fun with all your scraps.

Here's what Ashley had to say about her tutorial: These are the little wallet/clutches I made for the SYTYC Contest for the theme "Green." I was going to wait until after Thanksgiving to post the tutorial, but I had so many requests that I thought I'd do it early. Maybe you want to stay in on Black Friday and make some handmade presents for Christmas instead of shopping!

Scrap Ribbon Belt - Tutorial

Here's what Ashley had to say about her tutorial: I have so many ribbon scraps that are under 2" and I've contemplated throwing them out many times. This is what I came up with to use them all up....a ribbon belt. But you could use this technique for tons of other things....a headband, a purse strap, a drink coaster.....I had to narrow it down eventually!

Update: Project time is about 2 hours. Sewing the belt in small increments actually makes it go faster than you think.....
