I recently became enthralled with crazy quilting, creative embroidery, and silk ribbon embroidery.  I just LOVE it so I was so happy to find Carol Daisy's amazing Silk Ribbon Embroidery blog.  It is filled to the brim with tutorial after tutorial on various stitches and SRE designs.  I hope you enjoy Carol's tutorials and designs as much as I do.  I can hardly wait to try them.

Carol's Bio: My life is at the stage that I can indulge in my interests of Embroidery and Crafts. Ribbons,beads,threads, laces and trims all have a special place here in my studio. 

My childhood was spent on the family dairy farm in Toowoomba, Queensland. When I was about 12 years old, my Grandmother (nicknamed Daisy – hence the name Daisy’s Garden) introduced me to the joys of needlework. I am so thankful to her for giving me a skill that I could enjoy and build upon for life. After the chores were done, whenever I had some spare time, I would sit quietly on the front porch and stitch away. I remember these times so fondly. When I retired, and finally had some time to myself, I had the desire to do embroidery again. I didn’t get far with the fancy work tablecloth however, once I discovered Silk Ribbon Embroidery, I became addicted!

By the way, this is the yarn I use. If you don't fancy using the magic circle, you can make a ring by making 4 chain stitches and joining them into a ring. Please note, I am using the American crochet terms in this tutorial. :-)

Here's what Carina had to say about her tutorial: Mmm... happy colours! Ok, so there's a granny triangle tutorial in the works, but first I'm going to show you how to make a magic ring. This is a very handy thing to know how to make. Not just for granny triangles! Why is it handy? Because it can make centres of your work look a lot better. You're basically crocheting over an adjustable ring which you can pull tight. By the way, this is the yarn I use.

And despite its name, there is actually no magic involved whatsoever. I am sorry to disappoint you!

Here's what Jessica had to say about her tutorials:   I've decided to do this tutorial in two parts, because I have a feeling I'm going to get pretty wordy and I don't want it to be "the post that never ends." So this first part is how to make the blanket and part 2 is how to make the bib, burp cloths, and onsie.

I think this makes a really great baby shower gift. It's personal and homemade, but still elegant and doesn't take as long as a whole baby quilt.

There are, of course, a million different ways this could be done...I'll give you my reasoning as I go along and you can decide for yourself if you agree.
